This is a time-limited (NS-14) position with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety in Hinds County
. This job opportunity is in the MS Office of Homeland Security, JACKSON, MS in HINDS COUNTY. This is journey-level professional public safety support work. An employee in this class functions independently in a variety of grant program management duties. The job involves conducting detailed research and analysis of confidential intelligence and investigative information relating to law enforcement operations and programs.
Incumbents in this classification request and receive confidential intelligence and other information and are responsible for compiling, analyzing, and disseminating information to appropriate personnel. Duties include coordinating the exchange of inter-state and intrastate information pertaining to criminal activity and syndicated criminal movement; preparing written reports requiring thorough analysis and evaluation of intelligence and investigative information; and researching patterns, structures, trends, and movements of the syndicated criminal groups.
Incumbents in this classification will perform programmatic and fiscal management, monitoring, and fiscal auditing of grant activities.
- Conducting detailed research and analysis of confidential intelligence and investigative information related to law enforcement operations and programs.
- Requesting, receiving, and compiling confidential intelligence and other information.
- Analyzing and disseminating information to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinating the exchange of inter-state and intrastate information pertaining to criminal activity and syndicated criminal movement.
- Preparing written reports requiring thorough analysis and evaluation of intelligence and investigative information.
- Researching patterns, structures, trends, and movements of syndicated criminal groups.
- Performing programmatic and fiscal management, monitoring, and fiscal auditing of grant activities.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience.
- Preferred: a Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of grant, grant program management, and MAGIC experience.
