About the PositionThis is a non-state service (NS14), time-limited position. This is professional and supervisory-level work within the Office of Child Nutrition, responsible for overseeing the monitoring and compliance functions of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) across the State of Mississippi. The Director of Monitoring ensures that program sponsors and institutions operate in full compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures.

Provide leadership and oversight to the Monitoring and Compliance Team within the CACFP/SFSP Division. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate monitoring activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of reviews in accordance with 7 CFR 226 and 7 CFR 225. Review and approve monitoring reports, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation. Interpret and apply complex federal and state regulations, policies, and guidance related to CACFP and SFSP operations.
Collaborate with the Director of CACFP and SFSP to develop monitoring schedules, performance measures, and training plans for monitoring staff. Provide technical assistance and ongoing training to program monitors and participating organizations to strengthen compliance and program integrity. Prepare reports, correspondence, and data summaries for federal and state reporting requirements. Serve as a liaison between the State Agency, USDA Regional Office, and program operators regarding monitoring and compliance matters.
Maintain thorough knowledge of program requirements, audit findings, and emerging issues affecting CACFP and SFSP operations.
