This position will serve as Branch Manager of the Grants Branch within the Waste Division, directing the management of the State’s nonhazardous solid waste assistance grant programs and supporting other similar grant or assistance programs. The manager will supervise and mentor two program staff as part of implementing these programs. The programs and activities include the following:
and coordination with other MDEQ administration programs and Waste Division programs as needed.
What you'll need to be successful:
High performing, self-managing employee desired with strong organizational, time management and analytical skills, as well as effective communication and writing skills. Ability to create and manage basic accounting and budget spreadsheets and databases.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year college or university in a field of Agronomy, Atmospheric Sciences, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Chemistry, Earth System Science, Engineering, Environmental Biology, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Forest Management, Forestry, General Science, Geography, Geology, Geosciences, Horticulture, Hydrology, Marine Biology, Marine Science, Mathematics, Meteorology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Natural Resource and Environmental Conservation, Polymer Science and Engineering, Public Administration, Wildlife Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Wildlife Management.
- Seven (7) years of experience related to the described duties.
