The OpportunityReporting to the Project Manager or another Aecon designate, the Field Engineer will provide technical information to the project management team and sub‑trades to ensure construction work complies with all the design drawings, engineering standards, codes and specifications.
Citizenship RequirementCitizenship Requirement: This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
What You Bring to the Team- Post‑secondary school education in Engineering discipline; or an acceptable combination of education and previous technical experience.
- A minimum of 3 years working as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, ideally in a large process/power construction environment.
- Experience in quality control for base materials and visual weld inspection.
- Experience with AWS, ASME, and NQA‑1 industry standards preferred.
- Knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.
- Proficient in software related to the construction industry (e.g. Maximo, Microstation, AutoCAD, SAP etc.).
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral.
- Meet daily with project crews to review and evaluate production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Quality and NDT teams to ensure required inspections are performed in accordance with customer specifications and project timelines.
- Collects, coordinates and analysis shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
- Support development of technical requirements for project work packages, work planning and scheduling.
- Identify production, materials, equipment or process risk elements that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
