The Department of Chemistry, Physics, and Atmospheric Sciences (CPAS) at Jackson State University, within the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Biochemistry and related fields.

Examples of Duties

• Successful candidates as expected to establish and sustain a vibrant, externally funded research program, serve as effective teachers and mentors at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the department, the university, and the profession.
• Applicants at the Assistant/Associate Professor level must demonstrate a promising research agenda and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate student education and success.
• The anticipated start date is January 1, 2025.

A current curriculum vitae, including a publication record.

A research statement or proposal (up to 10 pages).

Teaching, outreach, and diversity statement (up to 2 pages).

Typical Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Chemistry and postdoctoral research experience are required.
• We are particularly interested in candidates who will support and enhance our mission to provide students with opportunities to pursue research careers in biochemistry and related disciplines.
• While preference will be given to applicants with expertise in experimental biochemistry, we also welcome candidates from other areas of chemistry, including biomedical, biochemical, analytical, computational, and inorganic chemistry.
