Brasfield & Gorrie, a leading General Contractor in the Southeast, is searching for experienced, traveling Superintendents to join our growing heavy civil teams to run large scale, multi-million-dollar projects in the Power & Process industry.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise Power construction projects from start to finish.
- Advocate safety as the number one priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with company and jobsite safety plans and policies and all safety-related regulations.
- Partner with Estimating, Division Management and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate management of construction projects, including direct liaison with owners, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job.
- Develop and implement production plans with budget goals in mind.
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project status reports.
- Be responsible for daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports, and logs.
- Oversee the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and coordinate shop drawings.
- Procure tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule.
- Determine staffing levels and timing considering building methodology as well as the availability of tools and equipment for each phase of the construction project.
- Recruit, hire, and direct the work of all company onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes and procedures.
- Prepare or oversee submission of payroll to the Payroll Department and all documentation required to comply with HR and Payroll policies and procedures.
- Confere with supervisory personnel and employees (with appropriate assistance from HR and Legal) to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Work with supervisory personnel and employees, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve construction issues.
- Ensure construction schedules are adhered to by determining appropriate staffing levels and material and tool procurement.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms.
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee regulatory inspections.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction supervisory role in a heavy civil construction environment.
- Proven experience in overseeing and managing the construction of power distribution systems.
- Experience in all aspects of civil construction management including earthwork, underground utilities, paving and concrete structures.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Current knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entities.
- Basic math skills.

- Work a significant portion of the day outside on a construction site.
- Be able to stand for long periods and work at heights.
- Be able to work in all types of weather (including exposure to extremes of hot and cold) and in all kinds of work environments.
- Able to lift/move up to 70 pounds.
- Able to stand, crawl, climb ladders & stairs, balance, stoop and kneel; etc (physical activities associated with construction sites).
- Be able to withstand for long periods of time noise, fumes, airborne particles, etc., associated with construction sites.
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Valid driver’s license.
