Crane Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Overhead Crane Service Technician to join our team in Otsego, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead crane systems in various industrial settings. This role requires a hands-on technician who can work independently in the field to ensure the safe and efficient operation of crane equipment.

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on overhead crane systems in the field.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues and implement effective solutions.
• Install, test, and commission crane equipment and components as required.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide technical support and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities.
• Travel to customer sites within the designated service area as needed.

• Proven experience as a Field Overhead Crane Service Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of overhead crane systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in crane maintenance or related field preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCCO) are a plus.
