Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift. This position maintains the entire facility and equipment to ensure proper working condition. Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair, moving and leveling equipment and machinery, running minor electrical services, installing and maintaining piping, painting, carpentry, filter replacement, lubrication, cleaning machinery, hanging items on walls, replacing ceiling tiles, and maintaining spare parts inventory.

All tasks are performed within the East Ave facility.

The hourly rate for this position is $38.18 per hour. Hours are 11:00 pm – 7:30 am
.

• Drive forklifts and utilize other elevated work platform equipment.
• Operate metal joining, burning and cutting equipment.
• Use various power hand‑tools proficiently.
• Use metal turning/cutting equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance duties.
• Train all apprentices assigned to the department.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Active Journeyman’s Card.
• Live within 50 miles of Jackson, MI.

• Supplies chemicals to build test cells (e.g., Red Oil, Skydrol, Alcohol, or Thinner).
• Empty scrap bins.
• Lead and/or assist in spill containment.
• Successfully complete the requirements stated in the respiratory policy, annual physical examination, and fitness test.
• Successfully complete the annual training of Class III Asbestos Work and Competent Person per Michigan Occupational Health Standards.
• Successfully complete and perform asbestos operation and maintenance, not to exceed Class III asbestos work as defined by OSHA regulations 325.51301 and 352.51302 of the Michigan Administration Code.
