HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex Security Officers in the Jackson, MI area. All shifts are available. These positions offer a pay rate of $18/hr, paid weekly.

Benefits

All qualifying candidates are eligible for a 401(k) with employer match (up to 8%) that work 20 hours a week (minimum of 500 hours per year or more worked) and have completed six months of service with Sunstates Security.

• Previous Security Officer experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to complete drug screen and background check.
• Must be flexible and team oriented.
• Previous truck experience is a plus.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

The Scheduling Parameters and Expectations for a Flex Officer differ from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a Flex Officer:

• You will be trained at various posts or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule; others may be called at short notice.
• You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance that falls within the availability described. If you will be unavailable, communicate this with your supervisor.
• For short‑notice call‑ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of such shifts, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.
