As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will assist with planning and supervising the twenty‑four‑hour operation of the facility to ensure the delivery of quality resident care. This position acts as a resident advocate by managing resident care, hiring, guiding, developing, and evaluating your nursing team. It also serves as the Infection Control lead, specializing in identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infection, and assisting with modifying treatment regimens to meet residents’ physical and psychosocial needs in accordance with established medical practices and state and facility requirements.
Compensationand Benefits
- Starting wage: $90,000 per year

- First Shift – Days (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), rotating weekends and holidays
- Must be a registered nurse
- Assess residents and ensure nursing care is carried out as directed
- Implement standards of nursing practice through formulation of policies and procedures, and direct maintenance of required department records
- Develop and revise infection control policies and procedures
- Investigate suspected outbreaks of infection and provide consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies
- Keep abreast of trends and developments in the area of extended‑care facility patient‑care techniques; follow federal and state skilled nursing facility regulations
- Coordinate and present general facility new‑hire orientation programs to all new employees
- Develop and deliver clinical orientation and training for new nursing team members, including classroom training on specific nursing policies, procedures, and techniques; observe, assist, and assess new team members’ performance; and ensure new members are equipped with the necessary skills
- Research, design, and implement in‑service programs on requested topics to reinforce operational policies/procedures, introduce new techniques, and address identified areas of deficiency
- Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in all daily interactions with guests, their families, and visitors, fostering a positive and healthy environment
- Supervise the nursing team, including giving direction and assignments, offering training, and delivering recognition and evaluations
- Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program with an associate’s, bachelor’s, or higher degree; superior knowledge in nursing management
- Current license to practice as an RN in Michigan and current CPR‑BLS certification
- 3+ years of experience in a long‑term care facility
- Clinical knowledge of long‑term care nursing; ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond to resident needs in a long‑term care and rehabilitation environment
