Location: 205 N East Ave Jackson, MI 49201

Position Overview

Henry Ford Health Jackson is seeking an experienced part‑time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our Level III NICU as a replacement position
. This role is 100% inpatient and dedicated exclusively to the care of neonatal patients
. The position requires an expected 20 hours per week with a variable schedule
, primarily day shifts (10 hours), though shifts may vary and will include weekends and holidays
.

The Neonatal NP will be responsible for comprehensive inpatient neonatal care, including admissions, daily rounding, delivery room attendance, discharges, transfers, resuscitation, and stabilization
. Procedural responsibilities include endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical line placement, initial ventilator management, X‑ray interpretation, and needle aspiration of pneumothorax
. The role also includes participation in staff mentoring and education
, supporting high‑quality, team‑based neonatal care.

Qualified candidates must be NCC‑certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioners with BLS certification
. This position is not open to new graduates
. Applicants must have a minimum of two years of experience in a Level III NICU
, including delivery room experience
, and demonstrate strong clinical competence in neonatal critical care. Experience with independent decision‑making, procedures, and collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary NICU team is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Neonatal NP seeking a focused inpatient role within a supportive and high‑acuity neonatal environment at Henry Ford Health Jackson.

Delivery room attendance.

Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Performs nursing functions independently. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.

Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.

Education & Experience

Requires Master’s Degree in Nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse; BCLS certification; and certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field, National Certification Corporation (NCC), National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates, and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

Qualifications
  • NP Neonatal Certified in the State of Michigan
Licensure and Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • DEA/CSL: required through credentialing.
  • DEA – NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU
  • Delivery Room experience, required.

Starting Bonus Eligibility (qualifications)

To be eligible for a sign‑on bonus, candidates must be external applicants with a minimum of three (3) years of Neonatal Nurse Practitioner experience
. Internal transfers are not eligible. Continued employment in the same department, location, and benefit status and maintaining good standing is required to receive all bonus payments.
