PositionThis employee performs a full range of practical nurse assignments. The work requires knowledge of proper methods and procedures for performing assignments as well as knowledge of basic nursing techniques. He/she works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse at all times.
RequirementsEducation
Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

The Department of Corrections may screen out job applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017. New hires to the MDOC and former employees returning after more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) of 40 or 80 hours, based on offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
