Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our anesthesia care team. The CRNA will be responsible for administering intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. The CRNA may administer anesthesia to all ages and ASA classes, including geriatrics and pediatrics, and will provide airway management services as needed throughout the hospital.

Work-Life

and Schedule
  • Minimal call with a 45-minute response time
  • Private call rooms available for those on call
  • Wide variety of shifts: 8- to 12-hour shifts with potential to transition to longer shifts if desired
  • Wide variety of cases:
    Ortho, Neuro, vascular, general, trauma, bariatric, plastics, thoracic, robotic, cysto, OB, and a small number of pediatric cases
  • Airway management for house-wide codes and ED traumas
  • Staff the endoscopy center (3 rooms) and surgery center (5 rooms) located across the street from the hospital
  • OB CRNA team for epidurals
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop tailored anesthesia care plans
  • Administer anesthesia (general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care) in collaboration with surgeons and other healthcare providers
  • Monitor patients during procedures and manage anesthesia-related complications
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Working Conditions
  • Moderate physical activity; ability to handle average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or stand/walk for extended periods
  • Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations with safety precautions and protective equipment
  • Regular indoor work environment
  • Potential contact with blood or blood-borne pathogens; OSHA training required
  • Shift mix of 8- to 12-hour shifts with potential for longer shifts
  • Minimal call and high degree of autonomy
  • Shift premiums available for evening shifts

Qualifications and Certifications
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Current RN license and CRNA certification (NBCRNA)
  • State of Michigan RN License
  • State Specialty Certification and CRNA Certification
  • ALS and BLS Certifications
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia
  • Ability to work harmoniously in collaboration with anesthesiologists and other healthcare providers
