Licensed Practical Nurse - Med/Surg 7 North West - Full Time - Days - Jackson, MI

Under the delegated authority of a registered nurse or provider, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) uses sound nursing judgment in provision of nursing care. Performs a variety of both technical and routine nursing services. Collaborates with health care team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care plan. Demonstrates clinical competence.

Sepsis Unit, General Medical Surgical Unit, Secure Unit with Michigan Department of Corrections – 4 wings with a total of 68 beds

• Mixed acuity units with progressive care and medical/surgical care
• Skilled staff in sepsis care and sepsis protocols
• Inside and outside work activities

• In 2023 90% of 7 th floor staff state they have NEVER thought about leaving the unit

Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing School. For the ambulatory setting, previous ambulatory nursing experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Successful completion of HFHS pharmacology exam for the LPN.
• Current BLS.
• LPNs that work in home care environments must have reliable daily transportation and will be required to maintain insurance, acceptable driving record according to HFHS Policy 4.09, and meet fingerprinting eligibility standards.
