Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit; PCU

Hospital - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and track changes in patient conditions.
• Manage patients on cardiac telemetry and other monitoring devices.
• Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
• Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and interventions (e.g., central lines, chest tubes, wound care).
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Document all care provided accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Respond to emergencies, including initiating life‑saving interventions and participating in rapid response or code teams.
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies and clinical best practices.
• Support a smooth transition of care, including coordination with other units, discharge planning, or transfer to higher or lower levels of care.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Prior experience in telemetry, step‑down, or critical care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and telemetry monitoring systems.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Full‑time contract employment 13‑14 weeks with possibility to extend.
