Recipient Rights Specialist (Finance)

Protect rights. Promote dignity. Strengthen the system. Life Ways is seeking a detail-driven, compassionate Recipient Rights Specialist to uphold the rights of individuals served across our provider network. In this role, you'll investigate complaints, educate staff, and ensure protections outlined in the Michigan Mental Health Code are consistently met.

• Investigate Recipient Rights complaints by interviewing involved parties and reviewing evidence.
• Determine appropriate resolutions in compliance with the Michigan Mental Health Code and agency policies.
• Produce clear, accurate investigative and intervention reports.
• Provide consultations, respond to informal inquiries, and support complaint resolution.
• Deliver bi-weekly and annual Recipient Rights orientation trainings for provider network staff.
• Conduct annual in-network and required out-of-network site reviews.
• Assist with Incident Report reviews and follow-up.
• Collaborate with providers, attend meetings, and support quality improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and represent Life Ways professionally at internal and community events.
