Overview
NKC Health Neurology clinic is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant. Our mission is to empower hope and healing in every life we touch. Whether serving patients at a primary care clinic, specialty clinic, or in a support capacity, every team member works together to complete this mission.
Responsibilities- Assist providers to maximize patient volume by preparing patients for visit, administering medications, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and returning patient calls in a timely manner.
- Complete physician orders and facilitate care, including phoning patient prescriptions, scheduling and arranging labs and diagnostic tests. Provide instructions regarding tests, procedures and treatments. Process patient referrals timely and follow up to ensure reports or test results are received.
- Maintain effective patient communication and efficient patient flow. Maintain medical records and ensure all required documentation is available in the medical record. Ensure data and information from completed procedures are recorded in the appropriate systems and medical records.
- Ensure orderly and clean examination rooms, stock assigned areas, and follow regulatory and patient safety clinical standards. Check and complete required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs and medication inventories.
- Perform administrative duties such as greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification of tests, processing insurance forms, preparing financial records, answering phones, and entering ambulatory care charges.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through an accredited certification organization.
- 2 years of experience in a physician’s office setting, preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
- Basic office skills, patient-centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
The hours of operation for the Neurology clinic are Monday–Friday, 9am–4:45pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.
