Description

Our client is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer with a strong governmental accounting and finance background to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the organization's financial operations. In addition to salary, the total compensation package for this CFO role offers a defined pension. This CFO will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and governing bodies, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide strategic financial leadership, partnering with executive leadership and governing authorities to support organizational goals

+ Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls

+ Lead the preparation and management of annual operating and capital budgets in accordance with governmental accounting standards

+ Ensure compliance with GASB, federal, state, and local regulations, grant requirements, and funding restrictions

+ Oversee audit activities, including preparation of financial statements and coordination with external auditors

+ Manage cash flow, investments, debt, and long-term financial planning initiatives

+ Provide financial analysis and reporting to boards, committees, and stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner

+ Oversee grants management, including financial reporting, compliance, and reimbursement processes

+ Develop and enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal controls

+ Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred

+ Progressive finance leadership experience in organizations with complex billing, reimbursement, or revenue recognition models

+ Demonstrated experience managing multi-payer, grant-funded, cost-based, or contract-driven billing environments

+ Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, and compliance

+ Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and leadership

+ Hands-on leader comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels

+ Strong analytical, communication, and process improvement skills
