This is not a traditional hands-on engineering role, but it requires a strong engineering background, particularly in controls systems and power generation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support OTAM (Operational Technology Asset Management) requirements by reviewing and updating the OTAM asset registry
- Analyze existing OTAM data and validate it against vendor documentation
- Identify, categorize, and document control system assets including:
- Tag points
- Equipment details
- Serial numbers
- Software and firmware versions
- Conduct field evaluations when required to gather missing or incomplete asset data
- Maintain and update an ongoing OTAM registry, including cybersecurity-related items such as multi-factor authentication and software correlations
- Collaborate with DCS engineers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate asset categorization
- Work across fossil, gas, and renewable generation facilities
- Manage and organize large datasets primarily using Excel
- Communicate findings clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Engineering background (Controls, Electrical, or related discipline)
- Strong experience with data management and documentation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with control systems, preferably DCS
- Understanding of SCADA and PLC systems (preferred but not required)
- Ability to identify and categorize technical asset data accurately
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- NERC and FERC training required
- Background in power generation, utilities, manufacturing, or renewable energy
- Experience with control system platforms such as GE, Siemens, or similar
- Familiarity with OTAM, asset management, or compliance-driven documentation
- Exposure to long-term control system projects or system upgrades
- Field work may be required to validate asset data
- No coding or programming experience required
- Candidates must be local to Saginaw or Jackson, MI
- Interviews will include technical questions using the STAR format
