Criminal Justice Faculty

Jackson College is seeking a dynamic Criminal Justice professional to teach, lead, and grow our Criminal Justice and Corrections programs.

This full-time faculty position includes classroom instruction, program leadership, and direct engagement with law enforcement and corrections partners to ensure curriculum aligns with current workforce standards. The selected candidate will serve as Program Director and coordinate the Michigan Certified Corrections Officer Academic Program, including required annual reporting and compliance.

• Teach courses such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, Corrections, Criminology, and Ethics
• Serve as Program Director for Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, and Corrections
• Coordinate MCOTC reporting and maintain certification alignment
• Engage industry partners and advisory boards to keep programs workforce-relevant
• Support dual enrollment, assessment, and program improvement efforts
• Teach in on-campus, online, hybrid, and correctional facility settings as needed

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years certified Michigan law enforcement experience

• Associate’s degree + 8 years certified Michigan law enforcement experience
• Strong knowledge of Michigan corrections and law enforcement standards
• Passion for teaching, student success, and applied learning
• Commitment to workforce alignment and program growth

Preferred certifications include FEMA/CDP Instructor Training, FLETC Instructor Training, or FBI Instructor Development.
