We are currently staffing a highly regarded outpatient clinic in Jackson, MI, seeking a skilled provider to deliver comprehensive adult and geriatric rheumatology services, including joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections. Position Overview:
As a Locum Rheumatologist, you will provide exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients in a clinic setting while participating in hospital-based call coverage. You’ll work closely with a supportive team composed of medical assistants, registered nurses, and front desk staff. The role involves clinic shifts of 4×10 or 5×8 hours, along with 24-hour hospital call responsibilities, primarily Tuesday through Monday, scheduled in a 1:2 ratio.

Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Rheumatology
- Fellowship training in Rheumatology
- Proven experience managing adult and geriatric patient populations
- Competence in joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Epic
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
Skills:
- Prior experience in a hospital-based or Level 2 trauma setting
- Knowledge of hospital call procedures and workflows
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- At least 2 years of post-fellowship clinical practice in Rheumatology
- Active medical license in Michigan or eligible for licensure
- Willingness to start as soon as credentialed; expected credentialing completion within 90-120 days
- Travel reimbursement considered for local providers; outbound travel and accommodations reimbursed as applicable
- Commitment to ongoing coverage from February 1, 2026, with an understanding of the credentialing timeline
- Ability to perform procedures such as joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
