Join Our Team as a Locum Gastroenterologist in Jackson, MI – Make an Impact in Outpatient Digestive Health!
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Locum Physician specializing in Gastroenterology to join the esteemed Henry Ford Jackson Outpatient Digestive Health Center. This exciting opportunity allows you to provide comprehensive GI care, including colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCP, and advanced procedures, all within a collaborative environment supported by a dedicated clinical team. By filling this role, you will contribute meaningfully to patient health and enjoy a flexible, fixed schedule with no call requirements, making this an ideal position for professionals seeking balanced work-life integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform outpatient gastrointestinal procedures such as colonoscopies, EGD, and ERCP
- Manage a patient load efficiently with 14 hospital-based patients daily
- Utilize the Epic EMR system for documentation and patient management
- Collaborate with a team of 4 physicians and locums to deliver high-quality care
- Work fixed day shifts on Mondays and Fridays, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with no night or weekend call duties
- Provide outpatient consultations and follow-up care
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Valid medical license in the state of Michigan
- Proven expertise in performing GI procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP
- Strong communication and patient management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills:
- Prior experience working in outpatient or hospital-based GI settings
- Familiarity with the Epic EMR system
- Ability to handle a high volume of procedures efficiently
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of post-training clinical experience in gastroenterology
- Current Board Certification or eligibility
- Michigan medical license or eligibility for licensure
- Local provider preferred; only mileage reimbursed
- Credentialing process estimated to take 90-120 days
- Reliable transportation for local travel as needed
