Are you a compassionate and experienced Rheumatologist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a flexible schedule? Henry Ford Jackson invites board-certified Rheumatologists with fellowship training to provide quality adult and geriatric care in a supportive, patient-centered environment. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice in a Level 2 trauma setting, managing a diverse patient population with the support of dedicated clinical staff.
Position Overview:
Be part of a dedicated rheumatology team providing comprehensive care through outpatient clinics and hospital-based call coverage. You'll manage approximately 16-18 patients per day in the clinic, perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections, and handle hospital consults during your 24-hour call shifts. The ability to start promptly, with credentialing expected within 90-120 days, is ideal, and you will have the flexibility of working 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts, complemented by hospital call two weeks out of each month (1:2 ratio).
This ongoing locum assignment is designed to fit your schedule and contribute to improving patient outcomes in the Jackson community.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Rheumatology
- Fellowship training in Rheumatology
- Proven experience managing adult and geriatric patients
- Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ability to perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Skills:
- Prior experience in hospital-based consults
- Familiarity with Level 2 trauma settings
- Experience working in a diverse patient population
Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Active state medical license (or eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of post-fellowship clinical practice in Rheumatology
- Prior locum or hospital-based experience is advantageous
- Credentialing timeframe of approximately 90-120 days
- Ability to work within a team supported by medical assistants, nurses, and administrative staff
- Willingness to consider local providers or those eligible for travel reimbursement (flight, hotel, rental car, mileage)
- Compliance with all applicable licensure and certification requirements
