This is a secretary position performing duties for the RGC Complex Healthcare Administrator. The position keeps the Administrator apprised of concerns and assists in tracking projects the Administrator directs. It requires discretion in interpreting and applying instructions and guidelines based on the Administrator’s viewpoint. Responsibilities include assisting in operations and management of the health care office, making independent decisions, accumulating and compiling data for required reports, managing supply inventory, attending meetings as requested, supervising the preparation, processing, updating, and maintenance of office files and correspondence, and coordinating or providing information related to litigation.
This position is located 100% within the secured perimeter of a correctional facility, has daily contact with prisoners, and is a test‑designated position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

New hires to the MDOC, along with previous MDOC employees returning after being away for more than two years, will complete Non‑Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 or 80 hours of initial in‑person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification. All new employees will also complete additional online training to successfully complete their non‑custody new employee training.
