Responsibilities
- Maintain active Parole Violator files for prisoners housed at RGC.
- Run Parole Violation Reports and pull completed Parole Violator files for classification purposes.
- Prepare files for transfer out of RGC.
- Assist in creating Institutional, Counselor and Central Office records for all new commits entering the Michigan Department of Corrections.
- Perform photocopying and answer telephone and e‑mail inquiries regarding prisoners.
- Work location is within the secure perimeter of the facility and involves continuous contact with unclassified prisoners.
- Pass drug and alcohol testing (designation for this position).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience- General Office Assistant 5 – no specific experience required.
- General Office Assistant 6 – at least one year of administrative support experience.
- General Office Assistant E7 – at least two years of administrative support experience, including one year at an intermediate level.
The Department of Corrections may screen out applicants who have been convicted of a felony. Applicants convicted of a misdemeanor or felony are ineligible for employment until satisfactory completion of any sentence, including parole or probation.

Training for New HiresNew MDOC hires and employees returning after more than two years will complete Non‑Custody New Employee Training (NCNET). Depending on level of offender contact and job classification, training will be 40 or 80 hours of initial in‑person training. Online training is also required. Overnight travel may be required for NCNET.
