Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state (required for New York nursing jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ER RN experience preferred)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills

Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment

ER RN Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department within the full scope of Registered Nurse practice

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for emergency patients

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to emergency treatments

Collaborate with physicians, case managers, social workers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Support and educate patients and families, offering emotional support as needed

Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients, including those with behavioral health or mental health needs
