• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (July 15, 2024 – October 14, 2024)
• Healthcare Setting: Prep & Recovery Unit (PCU/PACU/Phase I & II)
• Schedule: 3x12 hour day shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1720 - $1840
• Call Requirement: 1 weekend call (24 hours) every 6 weeks; 2-6 weekday calls per 6 weeks depending on staffing
• Hours of Operation: 5am – 10pm

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Minimum 1 year of recent preoperative, PACU, or PCU nursing experience
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and paper charting
• Experience with peripheral nerve blocks
• Comfortable providing pediatric patient care (ages 6 months+)
• Ability to manage a 1:2 patient ratio, including two Phase I patients as needed
• Willingness to take scheduled call shifts

• Deliver preoperative and post-anesthesia nursing care for surgical patients (orthopedic, general, ENT, neuro, plastics, urology, GYN, and more)
• Care for both inpatient and outpatient procedures, including elective, urgent, and emergent cases
• Recover ICU and endoscopy patients post-anesthesia
• Assist with local procedures (thoracentesis, paracentesis, minor orthopedic cases)
• Collaborate with operating room RNs and PCAs as part of the on-call healthcare team
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech and paper charting systems
• Provide compassionate, safe nursing care to both pediatric and adult patients
