Position Overview
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Night Auditor to join our team at the Hyatt Place Chicago Itasca. The Night Auditor will be responsible for reconciling daily transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate accounting procedures during the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Duties:
- Perform night audit procedures to reconcile daily revenue, including room rates, charges, and payments.
- Verify and balance all revenue and settlement accounts, including cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports, including the daily operating report (DOR) and management reports.
- Guest Service:
- Provide exceptional guest service during overnight hours, including assisting guests with check‑ins and check‑outs as needed.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Handle reservations and ensure accurate room assignments and availability.
- Security and Safety:
- Monitor security cameras and conduct routine patrols of the hotel property to ensure the safety and security of guests and staff.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, following hotel procedures and protocols.
- Report any safety hazards or security concerns to management immediately.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Update and maintain accurate records of guest accounts, transactions, and room inventory.
- Complete end‑of‑day accounting procedures and prepare financial reports for management review.
- Assist with administrative duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing reservations.
- Operational Support:
- Assist other hotel departments as needed during the overnight shift, including housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage.
- Conduct property walk‑throughs to identify any maintenance issues or cleanliness concerns.
- Communicate any operational issues or guest requests to the appropriate departments for resolution.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or hospitality management preferred.
- Previous experience in night audit or accounting roles preferred.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
