If you became interested in electrical engineering because you like figuring out how things actually work - not just sitting behind a desk drawing schematics all day - this may be the role for you.
We are looking for a hands‑on Electrical Engineer to support the design, build, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment used in real‑world manufacturing environments. This is a role for someone who takes pride in dependable work and wants to be directly involved in bringing equipment to life from design through production.
You’ll work under an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager in a small, focused team where engineers regularly step onto the shop floor to solve problems, wire panels, support builds, and see their designs in action.
This is not a purely theoretical engineering role - and that’s by design.
This is an on‑site role located in Itasca, IL.
What You'll Do- Assist in the design of high- and low-voltage electrical systems for industrial equipment
- Create and update electrical schematics using AutoCAD
- Support control panel layout and component selection

- Maintain engineering documentation and revisions
- Apply UL guidelines and electrical safety standards in a production environment
- 2–3 years of electrical education or technical training (Associate degree or equivalent technical schooling preferred)
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Interest in industrial electrical systems
- Comfort working in both high- and low-voltage environments
- Willingness to work hands‑on with equipment when needed
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and mechanical aptitude
- Reliable, detail-oriented work ethic
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
- Industrial manufacturing experience
- Exposure to control panels or industrial wiring
- Knowledge of UL standards
- Hands‑on electrical assembly experience
- Mostly office-based engineering work
- Daily shop floor involvement (~20%) for troubleshooting and production support
- Occasional travel (~10%)
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Stable, full-time position with standard working hours
- Direct mentorship from an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager
