Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrical Engineering
As MEI USA continues to evolve and grow the business across North America, we are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Field Service Technician
.
You will travel to install the machines, train our customers, perform preventive maintenance & provide technical support to customers in the USA, Canada, Mexico & Caribbean.
Position Responsibilities- Perform machine installation, preventive maintenance & training at the customer site.
- Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose & resolve customer/equipment issues.
- Maintain a high degree of professional customer service for all customer interactions.
- Travel 70% of the time by flight/car (passport required for international travel). When not traveling, provide technical remote support to customers.
- Attend shows and exhibitions if required, as technical support for installation of machines.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required for this position.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company standards for vehicle insurance eligibility.
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Automation/Automotive (mechatronics).
- 4+ years of hands‑on electromechanical maintenance experience.
- 4+ years of working knowledge of modern CNC machinery.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical/electronic, pneumatic components and power tools in the CNC industry. Ability to learn and understand mechatronics systems.
- Ability to read blueprints & schematic diagrams, knowledge of PLC’s and C++ concepts.
- Requires frequent lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds, recurrent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of up to 50 pounds and occasional pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices.
