ResponsibilitiesAscension Illinois is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Critical Care Physician for our Critical Care Department.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinois to provide medical services to patients.

- Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

RequirementsLicensure / Certification / Registration:
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Verified by local credentialing office.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
