The Sales Specialist plays a critical role in driving sustainable growth across Nagase’s Chemicals and Life & Healthcare businesses. This position partners closely with Account Managers, Sales Specialists, suppliers, and internal teams to identify opportunities, support key accounts, and execute strategic growth initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Support & Relationship Management
- Manage and execute RFQs (Requests for Quotes) and RFIs (Requests for Information) to support revenue growth.
- Deliver timely, effective responses to customer inquiries, issues, and requests to ensure exceptional service.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support strategic growth plans for key accounts.
- Provide technical and commercial guidance to customers to help resolve challenges.
- Process and manage customer quality complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare presentations and materials for customer meetings.
- Attend customer meetings as needed, develop action plans, and ensure timely follow-up.
Costing & Pricing Management
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Pricing, and OCS teams to obtain accurate costing for import and export products.
- Review, update, and communicate customer pricing in alignment with market conditions.
- Partner with the Pricing Analyst to establish special or customized pricing when required.
- Work with the OCS team to resolve pricing or product discrepancies on customer orders.
Business Growth & Profitability Support
- Support Account Managers in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with a focus on profitability.
- Review market intelligence and business data to support growth recommendations.
- Coordinate sample requests, track progress, and follow up to convert opportunities.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Account Managers to develop and document customer product forecasts.
- Assist with the execution of strategic customer projects to support customer growth objectives.
- Support efforts to improve ADP/ADL and research credit and debit requests as needed.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate product changes to customers for import and export items.
- Maintain and update job-related procedures as needed.
- Manage sample inventory for import products at third-party warehouses and process replenishment orders.
- Coordinate new product setups with Trade Compliance, ensuring all documentation requirements are met.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a B2B environment.
- Strong customer service, sales, or marketing experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- High integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the chemicals or life sciences industry.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and SAP.
- Understanding of INCOTERMS and trade/regulatory compliance.
- Exposure to international trade (imports/exports).
- Project management experience or familiarity with project tracking tools
