Position Summary
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team in Biassono (MB) who will be responsible and accountable for customer management, operational management, quality performance, Health&Safety, Security and Environmental management of the AST ITA Plant. The Operations Manager will provide regular and appropriate performance informations to STERIS Managers/Director and ensure compliance to all relevant Company and legal regulations.
Responsibilities

Ensure safe operations of the plant and company by development of an effective safety culture, enforcement of safety practices in compliance to internal and external requirements and regulations.
In conjunction with the (Senior) Sales Managers ensure the effective management of existing and new Customers and drive Customer satisfaction.
Provide Leadership to ensure continuous improvement of business processes and activities in line with STERIS world class safety objectives and the Quality management system.
Manage and develop 14+ staff, allocate resources and assign specific duties to achieve pre- determined commercial and business objectives for the business in the plant.
Ensure that the business operates within and towards the published STERIS Corporate vision and global objectives, including LEAN, 5S, Sustainability and One Team One Goal strategies.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

Demonstrated team leadership experience, even at an early career level.
Proven technical capability

Skills

Proven leadership qualities (leading by example)
Acute awareness of the importance of safety to the business
Willing to go the extra mile for our Customers (Customer First, always)
Good understanding of the principle of continuous improvement
Well-developed understanding of risk and risk avoidance
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Good understanding of the local business market. Some exposure to the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industries would be a distinct advantage
Significant Decision Making or Problem Solving authority
English language: B1 level
