Job Description
AECOM Italy is seeking a talented and motivated Architect to join our Architecture & Design team in Milan. You will work on a wide range of projects - public buildings, transportation facilities, defense infrastructure, urban regeneration, and complex technical environments - collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists across engineering, sustainability, and digital delivery.
You will contribute across all design phases, from concept to detailed design and construction support. The role involves producing high-quality drawings, BIM models, specifications, and coordinated technical documentation, ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and full compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
This position offers the opportunity to grow within an international network of more than 2,500 architects in a dynamic environment that values innovation, sustainability, and digital design.
Key Responsibilities
Develop architectural concepts, design studies, and detailed drawing packages.
Produce and coordinate architectural models, drawings, schedules, and technical documentation using Revit and other digital tools.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and coordinated design solutions.
Apply sustainable design strategies and contribute to energy-efficient, environmentally responsible outcomes.
Participate in design reviews, client presentations, and coordination meetings.
Support project delivery across all stages, including tender and construction phases.
Conduct site visits to understand construction conditions and incorporate findings into design improvements.
Ensure compliance with internal quality processes, BIM workflows, and digital standards.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Architecture (LM-4) or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in architectural design and technical documentation.
Strong design sensibility and ability to translate concepts into coherent architectural solutions.
Proficiency in Revit (mandatory); familiarity with Rhino, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Adobe Suite is an advantage.
Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
Knowledge of Italian building regulations, permitting workflows, and construction practices.
Understanding of BIM methodologies and collaborative digital environments (ISO 19650/UNI 11337).
Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage tasks independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Architect (or eligibility for registration).
Experience in multidisciplinary or technically complex projects, including transportation, industrial, healthcare, or other regulated sectors.
Familiarity with BIM coordination tools (Navisworks, ACC) or computational design workflows.
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (LEED, CAM, NZEB requirements).
Experience preparing specifications, bills of quantities, and code compliance reviews.
