Brief Task Description
The PPM may lead one or several procurement projects and/or procurement bids.
The PPM is accountable for end‑to‑end procurement strategy of a project/bid.
The PPM leads and drives project procurement strategy, involving category managers, category buyers and other procurement players from participating units.
The PPM identifies and establishes saving targets for the work packages, while managing risk and opportunities.
The PPM may address one or several categories from an end‑to‑end procurement process.
In the bid phase the PPM will lead the procurement team and consolidate procurement costs, while identifying risk and opportunities.
Missions & Responsibilities
Own relationship with internal stakeholders and drive procurement project strategy.
Conduct opportunity analysis, spend and risk management.
Work closely with project management to align procurement deliverables with business needs.
Prepare and follow up on the procurement plan.
Ensure full utilisation of Hitachi e‑Acquisition and other procurement tools.
Perform make‑or‑buy analysis.
Execute end‑to‑end procurement process for the category, if requested.
Work Experience Requirements
Business school or engineering degree.
Business, procurement, supply chain or engineering accreditations are desirable.
5+ years’ experience in procurement, category and/or projects.
Extensive experience in procurement strategy is mandatory.
Experience in contracts and negotiation is desirable.
Experience in project management is a plus.
Experience working in a matrix organisation is desirable.
Ability to implement and report on procurement strategy, risk and opportunities.
Knowledge of procurement tools – TCO, Negotiation Planner, Risk & Opportunity.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Managing various procurement‑specific tools – increased complexity.
