The Capacity Planning Team provides Amazon Operations with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for operational activities year-round, enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases. This role is based out of our corporate office. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record, and is experienced in driving execution in a cross‑functional environment, backed by analysis and data.

They thrive in a fast‑paced environment, relish working with large amounts of data, and enjoy the challenge of solving highly complex, and sometimes ambiguous problems.
Key job responsibilities:
Take ownership of capacity planning from day one, exercising sound judgment to ensure plans are realistic and achievable. Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to align on resource requirements, refine forecasts, monitor planning accuracy, and implement solutions to enhance the planning process.
A day in the life:
As a Planning Analyst in the Capacity Planning Team, your daily responsibilities center around generating and maintaining data‑driven capacity plans to ensure operational efficiency. You will review performance metrics, analyze execution gaps, refine future forecasts, collaborate with partners, dive deep into data analysis using SQL and Excel, present findings to stakeholders, continuously monitor accuracy, and respond to changing business needs while focusing on long‑term strategic planning.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, business analytics, information systems, or related field

Proficiency in MS Excel Fluency in SQLStrong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in operations/supply chain/logistics

Knowledge of VBAExposure to capacity planning

Experience working with data warehouse systems

Experience working cross‑functionally

Experience in complex problem solving and root cause analysis

Experience with supply chain management concepts
