iSeries QA Lead (Fully Onsite)
Length: 6 month contract (potential extension)

We are seeking an experienced iSeries QA Lead to join our team in Issaquah, WA. This role is responsible for leading end-to-end quality assurance efforts within an iSeries (RPG) environment, ensuring high-quality software delivery across functional, integration, system, and end-to-end testing cycles.
The ideal candidate will bring strong SDLC knowledge, Agile testing experience, defect management expertise, and the ability to lead QA strategy, risk management, and test execution activities.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Lead QA efforts across functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, user stories, and test cases.
- Conduct QA risk assessments and differentiate between risks, defects, and issues during the test planning phase.
- Develop and manage defect lifecycle processes, including assignment, tracking, resolution, and reporting.
- Create accurate QA resource estimates and testing schedules based on dependency analysis.
- Analyze requirements and participate in requirement gathering sessions to assess testability and clarity.
- Ensure adherence to QA standards, best practices, and SDLC governance processes.
- Collaborate closely with Development, System Administration, and Database teams to resolve defects and improve QA processes.
- Oversee QA documentation, reporting, and metrics tracking.
- Mentor junior QA team members and support skill development.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and drive QA automation initiatives where applicable.
- Minimum 3+ years of software quality assurance experience.
- Hands‑on experience testing in an iSeries (RPG) environment.
- Strong knowledge of HP ALM or similar QA test management tools.
- Strong understanding of Agile, SDLC, and SQA methodologies.
- Experience leading QA risk management processes.
- Experience creating effective test plans and test cases with verifiable test evidence.
- Strong defect management and lifecycle tracking experience.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries (Oracle, MS SQL Server, or DB2).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
