What's the Short Version?The Supervisor, DSaP is responsible for leading the System Administration team for San Mar's Distribution technology solutions, driving improvements in application and system sustainability for efficient, cost-effective DC Operations. Working directly with key stakeholders across San Mar's business areas, this position leads continuous improvement through technology-based projects and the related development lifecycle, Tier 3 support, and stewardship of system-based solutions.
What Will You Be Doing?- Responsible for leading the daily operations of a team of System Administrators who support Distribution Systems and Processes (DSaP).
- Assist IT leadership in developing the teams' project portfolio ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
- Confidently communicate with stakeholders including leadership, project managers, warehouse management, and end users regarding project status, maintenance notifications, system audits, incident root cause and resolution, and other questions/concerns as they arise.
- Drive a regular cadence for operating system and software upgrades for system stability, vendor compliance, and performance.
- Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and resource allocation needed for software and hardware upgrades.
- Coordinate warehouse hardware device refreshes and firmware updates for RF Guns, handhelds, voice devices, printers and other warehouse peripherals providing schedule and resources.
- Provide delivery of application features and enhancement to improve distribution performance, throughput, and quality.
- Provide primary Tier 3 support to monitor system administration work queues, provide off‑hours support either remotely or onsite as needed, and elevate to other technical resources as appropriate.
- Work closely with IT, DC staff, and 3rd party vendors to quickly research, diagnose, and troubleshoot real-time issues, including equipment, platform, or application related issues.
- Work directly with vendors to research new applications to support warehouse operations, distribution applications and hardware.
- Recommend and advocate for new technologies to support business needs, stability and performance.
- Conduct onsite hands‑on guidance and support for floor level implementations, enhancements, and issue resolution as needed.
- Create and promote quality documentation of distribution systems, tools, policies and procedures for the system administration team and other support staff.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, supply chain, or five years equivalent experience
- 4-6 years of experience operating and supporting applications
- 1-3 years of leadership or progressively responsible experience in application administration
- Solid subject matter expertise on the functional use of distribution applications: WMS, parcel management, label generation tools, RF scanners, voice equipment, and conveyance hardware/software systems.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server administration.
- Knowledge of integration, middleware, and/or messaging topologies.
- Understanding of network technologies such as load balancing, network/socket communication
- Experience working with on‑premise and cloud solutions.
- Experience building highly available systems and disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of database systems and T‑SQL is required.
- Understanding of message queueing and structured data formats including XML and JSON is desired.
- Experience with Power Shell scripting preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability and flexibility to quickly, and constructively, adapt to change and ambiguity in the work environment.
- Ability to travel when needed, maximum = 50% or less
Salary Range:
You’ll earn between $98,000 - $135,000 annually, depending on experience.
Bonus:
You’ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.
