What’s the Short Version? The Designer, Apparel for active categories supports the creative vision and design process across multiple brands, spanning men’s, women’s, and youth product. This role helps drive the business by championing innovation and the broader design vision.
Responsibilities- Play an active role in all phases of the design process, including product direction, research, original apparel design creation, illustration, and color/fabric/trim/fit direction.
- Create and present design concepts and product presentation materials that effectively communicate the brand vision and seasonal direction of the line.
- Create computer-generated artwork that accurately reflects apparel design direction and details.
- Collaborate with merchandising and cross‑functional partners to align on design direction, execution, and product intent throughout the creation process.
- Provide creative design solutions in an evolving environment and collaborate with cross-functional team members on execution.
- Interpret merchandising briefs and design into specific price points for active apparel categories, ensuring functionality, visual appeal, and cost targets.
- Translate market trends into original active apparel designs and update existing products based on trend insights.
- Gather and present color, fabric, and product trend information relevant to specific product categories.
- Ensure that the product is consistent with business strategy and meets the functional needs of the end-user.
- Partner with Technical Designers and cross‑functional teams to support accurate technical specification packs and drive value‑engineering throughout the design process.
- Work within the constraints of the product creation calendar and meet all timelines.
- Illustrate detailed multi‑view designs using Adobe Suite and rendering tools; perform additional duties as assigned while complying with all policies and standards.

- Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design or related field or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years proven experience designing and directing the creative vision for a sport or active wear apparel product line.
- Possess knowledge of technical fabrications, design, and fit for performance apparel.
- Highly collaborative nature with the ability to openly share and learn from others.

- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office suite.
- Advanced skill in the full Adobe Creative suite including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photo Shop.
- Curiosity and working knowledge of AI Rendering tools
Salary Range:
You’ll earn between $80,170 - $115,000 annually, depending on experience.
Bonus:
You’ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.
Paid Time Off:
You’ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

Hybrid:
San Mar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST.
