Summary
:
We are a welcoming, kind family in Issaquah, WA preparing to welcome our first child in mid-January. One parent will typically be home during the workday, either working remotely or recovering postpartum, and we’re seeking a nanny who is comfortable in a collaborative, parent-present environment. We value calm, professional energy, clear communication, and respect for cultural preferences and household boundaries. This is a short-term placement intended to provide dedicated newborn support during the early months.
About You
:
- You are an experienced, confident newborn nanny who truly understands infant needs, routines, and developmental milestones.
- You are thoughtful and adaptable, valuing open communication and aligning your caregiving style with the family’s preferences.
- You’re comfortable working in a home with indoor security cameras, have a love for diversity, and ideally have experience working with families of different cultures.
- You are reliable, professional, and happy to focus fully on baby-related care.
Job Duties
:
- Primary responsibilities include full newborn care such as feedings, diapering, naps, tummy time, and engaging in age-appropriate activities while the baby is awake.
- Support the establishment of healthy routines and milestones during the day.
- Perform light household tasks related solely to the baby, including baby laundry and bottle cleaning.
- Remain comfortable around the family’s friendly Shiba Inu; pet care is not required.
Qualifications
:
- Multiple years of extensive, hands‑on experience caring for newborns and young infants.
- Strong understanding of infant development, routines, and safety.
- Comfortable with parents working from home and indoor security cameras.
- Up to date on infant-related vaccinations (Tdap, flu, COVID).
- Reliable transportation to and from the family’s home.
- Glowing references from recent nanny positions.
Set Yourself Apart
:
- Newborn care certifications or additional infant training.
- Calm, adaptable demeanor with strong boundary awareness.
- Ability to seamlessly support parents during the postpartum period.
Schedule
: M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Pay
: $32–$39 per hour.
Working Conditions and Requirements
:
- Work environment will be active, kid-centric and includes clean-up of activities.
- Some time spent outside, weather permitting, for active play.
- Essential physical requirements: regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and pushing; must be able to lift 35 pounds; must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day; must react quickly to certain situations; may need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner.
