Are you a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role?

A warm, inclusive, and supportive primary school in Islington is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to work across KS1 and KS2, supporting pupils with additional needs to access learning, build confidence, and make meaningful progress.

About the role

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across KS1 and KS2

Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver IEPs and targeted interventions

Adapting learning resources to ensure lessons are accessible, engaging, and inclusive

Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, independence, and confidence

Supporting communication, sensory needs, and social skills development

Contributing to a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Monitoring progress and sharing observations with teaching staff and parents

About you

Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, ideally within KS1 and/or KS2

Strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive practice

Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and emotional needs

Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children
