Senior Design Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Manager with an architectural background to join a leading UK main contractor on high-profile fit-out and refurbishment projects.

The Role:

The successful candidate will lead design teams on complex projects, managing all aspects of preconstruction and design delivery from concept through to handover. This is ideal for someone with strong preconstruction experience and proven success leading multi-disciplinary design teams on high-specification fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and mentor design teams.

* Manage preconstruction design, including concept and technical design.

* Coordinate outputs with architects, engineers, and consultants.

* Act as main point of contact for clients and stakeholders.

* Ensure compliance with building regulations and quality standards.

* Monitor design budgets and identify value engineering opportunities.

* Collaborate with construction and procurement teams for seamless delivery.

Candidate Requirements:

* Degree or professional qualification in Architecture.

* Proven experience in preconstruction and fit-out design management.

* Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams.

* Strong knowledge of interior fit-out, refurbishment, and construction processes.

* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

* Demonstrable record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
