About the role

The Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities, within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This role is responsible for key transactional and reporting processes such as invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure all related postings are accurate and fully supported.
  • Reconcile A/P, A/R, and bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Assist with general ledger maintenance, including recording daily financial transactions across multiple entities and cost centers.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and reports for A/P and A/R.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Support Accounts Payable transactions, including invoice entry, expense reports, payment processing, and vendor support.
  • Support Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, check deposits, and follow-up collections.
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and support timely collections efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Support ad hoc projects and process improvements within the finance team.
What we need from you
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and general ledger functions.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience applying GAAP and general accounting principles in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
