LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN IRVINGTON NJ IS LOOKING FOR A SHARP MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN ON A 1ST SHIFT. MON-THURS 630AM-5PM.
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EITHER TEXTILE OR PLASTICS MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
PAYS $60K-$65K SALARY
Manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine maintenance and repair in a manufacturing setting, though experience in the following mechanical trades will also be considered: heavy or industrial machine mechanic (forklift, construction machinery, truck mechanic, boat mechanic).
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance on various machines and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic issues.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
- Rebuild and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed.
- Use basic welding skills to repair and fabricate machine parts.
- Apply basic mechanical engineering knowledge to improve machine performance and efficiency.
- Sewing machine repair experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications- Minimum of 2 years of experience in machine maintenance and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Ability to diagnose electrical problems using a multimeter.
- Knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics and the ability to rebuild and repair them.
- Basic welding knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) for effective communication and following precise instructions.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
