Summary

This position will provide a liaison bridge between Supply Chain Operations Distribution Center, Supply Chain Hospital Operations and supported entities. This support will include but not be limited to the monitoring vehicle fleet requirements, wave planning customer orders, picking special orders, demand cycle counts and inventory issue investigation, inbound receiving and issue resolution, manifest creation, outbound order staging, outbound productivity tracking and volumetrics.

Additional support activities will include the determination on the disposition of excess supplies and equipment, coordinating its sale, donation or disposal. All outbound freight will be coordinated and managed by this position to include working with and using freight carrier automated systems. Items such as large product returns, movement of material by courier service will also be a task of this position.

This individual will be used to support any and all Supply Chain projects as deemed necessary by the Operations Manager or Team Leads.

Responsibilities

  • Vehicles:
    This individual coordinates all aspects of the Children’s Health Supply Chain vehicle program. Performs all actions required by policy to include ensuring registrations and inspections are current, periodic scheduled maintenance is performed and vehicles are ready and safe at all times. Maintains maintenance records and manages CMC fleet card program to include proper cost stratification. Monitors usage and determines vehicle replacement needed and recommended the movement between departments based on utilization data.

    Works in tandem with risk management to ensure only licensed and insurable drivers operate CMC vehicles.
  • Excess Equipment / Supplies:
    This individual will be responsible for processing and documenting all Medical Equipment and Property retirements as outlined by policy. This task entails the pick-up and final disposition of the material to include that all supporting documentation and automated system are updated. Additionally, this position requires coordination between Children’s Medical Center and legitimate Nongovernmental organizations as it relates to the donation of excess / outdated supplies when it has been deemed that there no longer is a value to the hospital to include all coordination and documentation of outgoing shipments.
  • Freight Management:
    Assists Supply Chain Operations, Mail Room and other supported activities (internal customers) with the commercial shipping of supplies and equipment. This will consist of working with commercial carriers and their automated systems. Tasks will include setting up individuals in automated systems, validating users, assisting with packaging and ensuring all time frames are met. Additionally, this individual will act as a liaison between in-house staff, Supply Chain Operations delivery folks and local commercial carriers to ensure the timely / economical movement of required shipments.
  • Dock Monitor:
    Can act as the primary coordinator for all dock operations within the facility. This task entails that material flows in a timely and efficient manner to and from the main facility, PSC and all other Dallas locations.
