The Dallas Bulls are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Team Nutritionist to lead the nutritional planning and execution for the team. This role is responsible for fueling elite athletic performance by creating individualized meal plans, educating athletes on nutrition, and working closely with coaches, trainers, and medical staff. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, performance-focused, and experienced in high-level sports environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesNutrition Strategy & Individualization
Assess individual nutritional needs of players based on goals, body composition, health status, and performance demands.
Develop and implement personalized meal plans and supplement strategies.
Provide guidance on hydration, recovery, travel nutrition, and in-season/off-season needs.
Team Meals & Food Environment
Coordinate pre- and post-practice/game meals with culinary staff and catering vendors.
Ensure all meals provided align with high-performance nutritional standards.
Oversee locker room and training facility snacks, supplements, and hydration stations.
Education & Communication
Conduct 1-on-1 consultations and team workshops to educate players on proper fueling, performance nutrition, and recovery practices.
Translate complex nutritional science into practical, actionable advice.
Serve as a trusted resource for players, coaching staff, and support personnel.
Collaboration with Performance & Medical Teams
Work closely with athletic trainers, strength & conditioning coaches, and team physicians to support holistic player care.
Assist in managing players with special dietary needs, allergies, or medical conditions.
Contribute to return-to-play nutrition plans for injured athletes.
Monitoring & Compliance
Track body composition and nutritional progress throughout the season.
Maintain detailed records and documentation of consultations and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with league anti-doping and supplement safety regulations.
QualificationsRegistered Dietitian (RD or RDN) with active license to practice in the state of Texas.
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in elite sports (professional or NCAA Division I preferred).
In-depth understanding of performance nutrition, hydration, supplementation, and recovery science.
Preferred AttributesStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with athletes.
Ability to adapt plans based on training cycles, travel, and individual preferences.
Experience working with chefs, catering services, and managing food service logistics.
Familiarity with sports science tools (e.g., body comp assessments, hydration tracking).
