Akkodis is seeking a Contractor job with a client in Irving, TX. Ideal candidates have experience in firewall administration, deep knowledge of Forti Gate firewalls and network security protocols.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $43/hour; negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location and other factors.
Firewall AdministratorJob Responsibilities
- Maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software, including multi‑user applications and servers.
- Implement and oversee security measures such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection, and VPNs to protect against unauthorized access.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Resolve network connectivity issues, hardware/software problems, and provide technical assistance to end‑users.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 6–8+ years of experience in firewall administration and network security.
- Good knowledge of Forti Gate firewalls and migration.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and security protocols.
- Scripting experience with Power Shell or Python for efficiency.
- Ability to use tools to track and optimize network health.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact with internal/external clients and handle escalations.
- ITIL knowledge.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $43.00 per hour.
