As a Director, Business Development within McKesson Automation & Pharmacy Solutions (MAPS), you will lead the growth, sale, and expansion of McKesson’s advanced technical products and services across the healthcare ecosystem. This role partners closely with sales, technical, and implementation teams to drive complex, high‑value sales opportunities from strategy through execution.
You will work with national accounts, community pharmacies, and health systems to understand customer needs, shape innovative solutions, and deliver sustainable growth while strengthening long‑term customer relationships.
What You’ll Do- Lead Strategic Growth Initiatives: Develop and execute business development strategies that drive new and expanded revenue opportunities across national and complex accounts. Own account strategies, contract business cases, and long‑term growth plans.
- Drive Customer Outcomes: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and C‑suite stakeholders, ensuring McKesson solutions align with customer goals and deliver measurable business value.
- Manage Complex Sales Cycles: Lead highly complex, solution‑based sales using the Integrated Sales Cycle to close large‑scale technical and systems solutions.
- Expand Market Presence: Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet, penetrate new segments, and bring emerging offerings to market by collaborating across McKesson business units.
- Partner Cross‑Functionally: Work closely with internal sales, technical, implementation, and operational teams to ensure seamless solution design, sale, and execution.
- Apply Market & Industry Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of McKesson solutions, competitive offerings, and healthcare industry trends to recommend forward‑looking solutions to customers.
- Advanced expertise in complex, consultative sales and the Integrated Sales Cycle
- Proven ability to manage and grow large, multi‑stakeholder healthcare accounts
- Strong understanding of healthcare technology solutions, including software and hardware systems
- Demonstrated success influencing executive‑level decision makers
- Strategic mindset with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across matrixed organizations
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
- Extensive experience working with large, complex, or national healthcare customers
- Ability to travel up to 50%

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
