ResponsibilitiesPosition is for software testing of a medical device used in testing body fluids. Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids components. Analyzes test results and enters findings in computer. Performs routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure. Verifies instrument functioning by checking and calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data. Records on instrument logs any repairs, replacement, and maintenance needed of equipment.
Perform acceptance testing on the instrument and on a simulation environment for instrument features such as quality control, sample ordering, result review and reagent usage.
Position requires competency on computers for creation and editing of specialized text files and installation of instrument and simulator software. Ability to demonstrate competency of computer skills is required. Training in basic computer programming and / or software test is highly desired. Must be proficient with the documentation of test results. Able to review software requirements and determine acceptance criteria. Some laboratory or diagnostics experience.
Experience with HP Quality Center, HP UFT and IBM Rational DOORS a plus.
B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline including Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Laboratory Science desired. On the job experience in Software Testing or Medical Device Testing or Life Sciences of 4-6 years without a Bachelor’s Degree. Selected candidate will start as soon as onboarding is completed.
