Job Overview/SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Small Animal Veterinarian (General Practice) to join a well‑established veterinary team in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate will be proficient in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. While experience is preferred, new graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply and take advantage of an experienced DVM Mentor Network.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to small animal patients.
- Perform routine examinations, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient medical records.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide education and guidance on pet health.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure quality care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Proficiency in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience mentoring veterinary staff or working in a collaborative multi‑DVM setting.
- Interest in specialized procedures or advanced veterinary medicine.
- Familiarity with practice management software.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Active state veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Current DEA License preferred but not required.
- USDA Accreditation preferred but not required.
